He stood for Sparta

Courageously he reigned beneath the stars

Victorious was the great Leonidas

The king who ruled an army and served the gods

So proud I was born to be spartan

They rise over fire they face

They carry the weight of Leonidas

The bravest they fight to the grave

Can a savior now be found within the city

They hope the mighty spear will rise again

Sparta needs a new leader to believe in

A legend to build an army and to defend

But where will the next hero come from

With eyes to the heavens they pray

With hope in their hearts they are waiting
